Head Coach (part time) Fauldhouse Penguins SC. We are looking to recruit a head coach to develop and expand the club. At present we have 60 swimmers from beginners to district level and feeding into the Swim West Lothian Pathway. We train in the newly refurbished pool in Fauldhouse Partnership Centre. We have a committed team of volunteer teachers and helpers and an enthusiastic committee. At present we have 7 hours training and are able to expand. The successful candidate would be enthusiastic and a good communicator. They would show the desire to improve performance and expand the club. Salary would depend on experience and qualifications.

Excellent performance by Chanel Sneddon after a very hard fought race, to clinch 1st place in the 200m Fly at the EDAG championships 5/6 March, well done.Good luck to Chanel, Ethan, Cameron and Aaron who train with SWL squads, and who have all qualified in several of the 100 metre events for this weekends Finals sessions at the East Districts.

URGENT NOTICE - Please note that Fauldhouse Pool is still closed - therefore there will be no training this week :( . Forth Valley Junior League Final Postponed. Due to the weather the FVJL will not go ahead. Will keep everyone updated on training. Jenny.----------------Message from FVJL president .' I know there will be a thaw over the weekend, but I am not convinced it will be enough for safe travel for all teams and swimmers. Given the road conditions to and from and near Tollcross, I think from a safety perspective it makes sense to postpone the final.' Thank you all for your feedback, which was a mixture of go ahead and cancel. The overwhelming sense I take from this is that even if we went ahead, some swimmers could not take part or would withdraw, meaning it would not be a great event anyway. This is not a decision taken lightly: I know it’s inconvenient for you and disappointing for our swimmers, but given the overwhelming desire to avoid undue risk when transporting near 600 swimmers around the country, I think it makes sense to postpone the event.

URGENT NOTICE -Just to keep you all up to date. A decision will be made on Thursday as to whether the Forth Valley Junior League Final Gala will take place on Saturday. Once we know for definite whats happening I will send all the details out by e-mail. Anne.

URGENT NOTICE - Training will be off all this week as there is a problem with the pool and they are waiting on a new part being delivered. (I would have cancelled training tonight due to the bad weather.) If the pool happens to be fixed early I will send an e-mail out so please check later on in the week. Hope to see everyone next Monday. Anne

SWIM WEST LOTHIAN - club members URGENT NOTICE - East District Age Group Championships at Glenrothes 4/5th Dec have been postponed due to the adverse weather. This meet will be re-arranged for a future date tbc. To all concerned In the interest of safety and out of courtesy to all concerned, it has been agreed not to delay any longer with the decision to call off this weekends leg of the championship. There has been no let up weather-wise and the likelihood of a massive improvement looks pretty remote. Can you please ensure that this information is communicated to everybody in your club who may have been going to the meet (swimmers, coaches, parents and technical officials). This notice will also be posted on SwimScotland to give as wide a circulation as possible. The committee will look at the options available to reschedule the event and advise you in due course. regards JB on behalf of the District Meet Management Committee

URGENT NOTICE -As you would expect with the continuing bad weather, no training tonight (Friday) at Fauldhouse. Will review the situation again on Monday.

Anyone interested in becoming Timekeeper's can forward their mames (if you have not already done so) to Ronnie / Lesley - we are arranging a workshop in the near future. This consists of 1 hour tuition in class and 1 hr practical on poolside. This would then allow you to help the club out by timekeeping at gala's like Forth Valley Leagues etc. Any existing timekeepers who have been qualified for more than 6 months are eligible to participate in a Judge 1 workshop - this is the next step on the technical official's ladder. Don't worry! these workshops do not require you to sit any exam - you are mentored on poolside and have to complete a log book of poolside duties over a period of time . Please give this some serious consideration as many swimming competitions now require each participating club to provide various levels of technical official to assist in the smooth running of the event. The thought may be a bit daunting at first but officiating in some capacity is good fun, and you usually get the best view of the competition. If anyone is interested in or wishes to know more about officiating or helping out in some capacity, please contact Ronnie or Lesley in the first instance.
